The Hill: Families Sue Over Georgia Law Restricting Gender-Affirming Care for Transgender Youth

Four Georgia families filed a lawsuit seeking to prevent the enforcement of Georgia’s ban on gender-affirming healthcare. The law, known as Senate Bill 140, will ban doctors from performing gender-affirming care on transgender people under age 18, including surgeries and hormone therapy.  The plaintiffs are represented by the Southern Poverty Law Center, the American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, and O’Melveny & Myers LLP.
