The National Law Journal: Pence’s Chief Counsel, Greg Jacob, Returns to O’Melveny After ‘Consequential’ Year

Greg Jacob is set to return to his “on and off home,” O’Melveny & Myers LLP. The article highlights that the former US Labor Department solicitor, had been on the vetting team for Pence back in 2016, when he was the governor of Indiana. The call to serve as chief counsel to then-Vice President Mike Pence “to some extent came out of nowhere,” but the publication notes that Jacob’s long background in government work fit the bill when Pence was assigned to lead the coronavirus task force.

Jacobs will rejoin the firm as a partner in their Washington office and focus his practice on financial services and employment matters, especially ERISA litigation. “I love litigation, but I love even more being able to help clients avoid litigation—by tightening things up and staying ahead of the curve,” he said.
