Thomson Reuters: In-house Vet from Twitter, StubHub, eBay Jumps to O’Melveny

Former Deputy General Counsel and Vice President of Twitter Inc. Tod Cohen has joined O’Melveny as a partner in its Washington, DC office.
Cohen told Thomson Reuters that while he had a great experience working at the tech companies, he found that the in-house teams tended to send the most challenging issues to outside counsel.
“Being in-house for a long period of time, I found the best place to do legal work on the most cutting-edge issues is at a law firm,” Cohen shared. Some of the areas he told the publication he’s watching include data protection challenges facing companies and individuals globally, in particular sharing data around coronavirus vaccinations, and content sharing and moderation issues.
