Crain’s New York Business Recognizes Godesky and Rudzin as “Notable Women in Law”

December 16, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW YORK—December 16, 2019—Crain’s New York Business has named partners Leah Godesky and Abby Rudzin to its list of 2019 “Notable Women in Law,” which celebrates “women lawyers who have impacted New York City in major ways.” Published today, the special feature honors its recipients’ professional, civic and philanthropic achievements.

In its profile of Godesky, Crain’s cited her New York appellate win allowing Grammy-winning artist Kesha to obtain key documents from Sony in an ongoing legal battle with her ex-producer. Crain’s also hailed Godesky’s win for Fox in its high-profile tortious-interference suit against Netflix. In addition, the profile highlighted her recent pro bono wins on behalf of women’s reproductive rights, remarking that she “successfully represented providers in Kentucky and Arkansas fighting against strict anti-abortion legislation.”

In its profile of Rudzin, Crain’s observed that she has over “two decades of experience defending financial institutions and Fortune 500 companies in high-stakes litigation matters, primarily in the securities and antitrust arenas.” Last year, Crain’s noted, Rudzin helped lead the O’Melveny team that secured a unanimous US Supreme Court win for China Agritech in a “closely watched” class action case. On the pro bono side, the publication cited Rudzin’s animal rights work, including helping such organizations as the Humane Society, Animal Care Centers of New York, and the Wild Animal Sanctuary.
