O’Melveny Represents Coller in US$1 Billion Fund Deal

LONDON—January 15, 2019—O’Melveny represented longtime client Coller in connection with a new US$1 billion fund arrangement with Bahrain-based investment adviser Investcorp.

The deal, which is subject to customary closing conditions, involves the acquisition of six assets from Investcorp’s European private equity portfolio. The transaction also provides capital for future investments, follow-ons and co-investments, while providing liquidity on certain investments to existing Investcorp clients. Investcorp will continue to manage the acquired assets and the newly created fund.

Coller will finance the transaction through its current fund, Coller International Partners VII.

O’Melveny has served as counsel to Coller for the last 15 years, handling some of its biggest and most innovative deals.

The O’Melveny team advising Coller in this deal was led by London-based partners John Daghlian and Aleksander Bakic, and included associates Simon Ellis and Ben Watson, as well as tax partner Jan Birtwell, regulatory partner Eve Ellis and competition partner Christian Riis-Madsen.
