O’Melveny Wins Law360 2019 “Practice Group of the Year” Contest in Three Categories

NEW YORK—January 15, 2019—Law360 named O’Melveny to its 2019 “Practice Groups of the Year” list in the categories of Entertainment & Media, Product Liability, and Transportation. This marks the fourth consecutive year the firm’s Transportation group has been selected for this honor.

The special report recognizes “the law firms behind the litigation wins and major deals that resonated throughout the legal industry in the past year.” O’Melveny’s practice groups were selected from among nearly 800 submissions.

The honor highlights the industry-shaping results O’Melveny obtained in 2019, including defending AT&T and Time Warner’s landmark US$100 billion merger against claims by the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division that the transaction would harm competition and should be blocked.

Law360 also recognized the firm’s work as lead litigation counsel for Johnson & Johnson as it confronts more than 2,000 opioid lawsuits in what The New York Times calls “one of the most complicated and gargantuan legal battles in American history.” 

In addition, the firm was singled out for securing wins for transportation industry giants Ford and American Airlines, as well as for its role in major airport redevelopment projects.
