FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOS ANGELES—January 22, 2018—O’Melveny partner William Pao and counsel Dimitri Portnoi are among the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2018 Most Influential Minority Attorneys in Los Angeles. The special report features 50 of the best minority lawyers in the LA region.

The LABJ hailed Pao’s diverse commercial litigation practice and wide-ranging client base. It also noted his work as a secondee to one of the nation’s largest banks, managing a large portfolio of high-exposure, high-stakes consumer banking litigation.

The LABJ praised Portnoi’s pioneering work exploring new areas of the law and expanding rights for underserved groups. The publication noted that Portnoi recently helped file an amicus brief in the US Supreme Court and other appellate courts on behalf of over a hundred national, state, and local groups in the ongoing litigation seeking to overrule anti-transgender legislation passed in North Carolina.

Pao is a seasoned commercial litigator whose practice focuses on three main areas: securities litigation, financial services litigation, and complex commercial litigation involving Chinese companies.

Portnoi is an experienced litigator who represents clients in a wide range of complex business litigation, financial service, and entertainment matters, including consumer class actions, unfair competition, business torts, fraud, contract and related commercial litigation.
