Strubeck Named One of Turnarounds & Workouts’ “Outstanding Restructuring Lawyers”

DALLAS—January 6, 2022—O’Melveny partner Louis Strubeck Jr. has been named among Turnarounds & Workouts’ 2021 “Outstanding Restructuring Lawyers.” The highly selective list recognizes the achievements of 15 top restructuring lawyers who led significant matters in the past year.

Turnarounds & Workouts highlighted Strubeck’s work for Brazos Electric Power Cooperative—Texas’ oldest and largest utility cooperative—in navigating myriad complex state law and novel bankruptcy issues to restructure nearly US$7 billion in claims as a result of the February 2021 Texas storms. The publication also noted Strubeck’s successful negotiation of a cash collateral arrangement in the Boy Scouts of America Chapter 11 plan that, “funded debtors' post-bankruptcy operations and settlement with debtors and Unsecured Creditors’ Committee of potential claims challenging JPMorgan’s liens against essentially all of debtors’ assets.”
