Taylor Named to Global Investigations Review’s “Women in Investigations” Survey

SAN FRANCISCO—May 18, 2021—O’Melveny partner Damali Taylor has been named to the Global Investigations Review’s “Women in Investigations” survey, highlighting 100 “remarkable female lawyers, corporate counsel, barristers, and government enforcers working in the field.”

In her GIR profile, Taylor discussed her experience as a trial lawyer handling high-stakes white collar and civil litigation matters, noting that she is “most proud” of her work to bring sensitive investigations to a positive conclusion. She also reflected on her work as a former federal prosecutor, saying she developed a reputation for treating victims “with compassion and dignity.”

“No matter the outcome of an investigation, we are making an indelible mark on peoples’ lives,” Taylor said.

In addition, Taylor discussed diversity in the legal profession. She said: “Increasing racial and gender diversity is not difficult if you are committed. Every single time I build a case team, diversity (racial and gender) is a priority. Every time.”

Taylor is O’Melveny’s San Francisco Hiring Partner and a leader on O’Melveny’s Racial Justice Committee. Beyond her work representing clients in criminal, internal, and regulatory investigations, Taylor advises clients on anti-money laundering, privacy, and Fintech enforcement issues. Her extensive government experience includes six years as a federal prosecutor at the United States Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of California, where she served as the deputy chief of the Organized Crime Task Force Section. She also served as chair of the San Francisco Police Commission.
