Anwar Graves is a litigation partner in O’Melveny’s Washington, DC office with a broad litigation and trial practice that spans a variety of areas, including entertainment, employment, healthcare, business torts, insurance defense, congressional investigations, and First Amendment litigation. Clients routinely turn to Anwar to represent them not only in high-profile litigation but also to advise them on sensitive internal matters, including allegations of misconduct and discrimination. Anwar has represented such notable corporate clients as NBCUniversal, Warner Bros., an NFL Franchise, American Airlines, Samsung, FedEx Ground, Elevance Health, UnitedHealth Group, and many others. Over the course of his career, Anwar has tried more than 40 cases to verdict.
Before joining O’Melveny, Anwar served as an Assistant United States Attorney at the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia where he led numerous grand jury investigations, prosecuted a range of cases, and also defended the government on appeal. For each of his four-plus years at the United States Attorney’s Office, Anwar received a Special Achievement Award from the Department of Justice in recognition of his exceptional work. Anwar also served as a Trial Attorney for the Department of Justice’s Consumer Protection Branch where he prosecuted multi-national criminal and civil conspiracies involving pharmaceutical fraud, wire fraud, bank fraud, money laundering, aggravated identity theft, and violations of the Controlled Substances Act as well as the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.

- Marcus v. FedEx Ground Package Systems, Inc., No. 2018CA004903 (Fla. 4th Cir. Ct. 2018): Second-chair counsel for the package delivery company and its contracted driver in a wrongful death action arising from a fatal accident involving the alleged negligent operation of a delivery van.
- Represented UnitedHealth Group in connection with Senate and House investigations of its business practices in the small group and individual health insurance markets.
- Defended a chip maker in a high-profile jury trial victory involving a license dispute between two Silicon Valley competitors.
