Chris Bowman is a corporate associate in O’Melveny’s Project Development and Real Estate practice group.

Chris represents a broad range of clients on environmental matters, including environmental regulatory compliance, environmental due diligence, and policy development and advocacy. Chris has experience with Superfund and hazardous waste law, the redevelopment, transfer, and cleanup of contaminated property, permitting issues for major infrastructure projects, and California environmental law, including air quality and greenhouse gas regulations. Chris also represents clients on health and safety and ESG matters, including in connection with acquisitions and divestitures of a wide range of businesses.

Chris also maintains an active pro bono practice, which includes representing environmental nonprofit organizations on regulatory advocacy efforts.

  • Represents Nutrien in connection with the investigation and remediation of former phosphate mine sites in Southeast Idaho.  
  • Represents a major U.S. marine terminal operator in various transactions with international shipping carriers.
  • Represents a truck trailer leasing company in connection with environmental policy development and advocacy matters before the California Air Resources Board.
  • Represented multiple clients in environmental due diligence matters in connection with major stadium development projects.
  • Represented the Madison Square Garden Company in its $400 million sale of the LA Forum.
  • Represented Apollo Global Management in multiple acquisitions, including its acquisitions of Atlas Air, Cardenas Markets and New Fortress Energy.
  • Represented equity investors in multiple utility-scale wind and solar energy projects.
  • Represented an investor in the acquisition of an in-construction bioenergy facility in California.
  • Represented underwriters in various infrastructure financing, tax-exempt financing, and project finance and development transactions.
