Emily Kent is a corporate associate in O’Melveny’s Newport Beach office. Emily is a member of the Capital Markets Practice and Public Company Advisory Practice. Her work focuses on capital market transactions, including as equity offerings. She also advises public companies on a wide range of securities law and corporate governance matters, including SEC reporting and disclosure under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, shareholder meetings and compliance with the proxy rules, and compliance with NYSE and NASDAQ corporate governance requirements, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, and related regulations. Her practice includes work for companies in various industries, including healthcare and life sciences, technology, consumer goods, and transportation and hospitality, among others.

Emily also contributes to a broad range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, venture capital financings, and corporate and regulatory matters related to water law and water rights.

Emily actively participates in O’Melveny’s pro bono efforts. Her work has involved assisting community organizations and non-profit foundations with governing documents and tax-exempt status and working on several immigration matters.
