Howard Goldwasser is a seasoned and highly regarded structured-finance and securitization expert whose work in the industry spans more than 30 years. His clients include arrangers, lenders, asset managers, asset originators, investors, and rating agencies. Over the years, he has covered a broad array of asset classes that include traditional asset classes and transactions, such as corporate loans, credit cards and other consumer-loan and fintech assets, trade and telecom receivables, the establishment of repo-backed note-issuance programs, and less traditional, esoteric asset classes, such airline-ticket receivables, diversified-payment rights, music and pharmaceutical royalties, energy-related receivables, litigation-settlement receivables, and storm-related cost-recovery tariffs.
Howard is presently a market-leading lawyer in the US CLO space. He has advised on the structuring of US CLOs and CDOs since the emergence of the markets in the mid-1990s and was among a small group of pioneering lawyers to lead clients, both arrangers and collateral managers, through the first “CLO 2.0” transactions that emerged as the securitization markets recovered from the Great Financial Crisis of 2008-9. Clients regard Howard and his CLO team as innovators in the CLO market.
