Kate Stutz is an experienced litigator in O’Melveny’s Los Angeles office who represents clients in securities and complex business litigation, including securities and consumer class actions.  In addition to representing clients in federal and state courts, she also represents public companies in government investigations.  

Kate serves on the Los Angeles office’s Employment Committee and maintains an active pro bono practice, which includes representing clients in immigration proceedings.

  • Representing space infrastructure company in federal court SEC Rule 10b-5 securities class action and state court Section 11 securities class action.
  • Served as counsel for mobile phone provider and its directors in Section 11 securities class actions filed in federal and state court.
  • Served as counsel for technology company in connection with formal SEC investigation into sales practices and revenue recognition.
  • Represented bank executive in securities class action arising from allegations of false and misleading statements to investors.
  • Represented national bank in class action challenging mortgage-servicing fees and alleging violations of RICO and consumer protection laws.
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a national law firm that faced civil RICO, false advertising, and tort claims filed by a competitor.
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a pharmaceutical company in an antitrust litigation involving allegations of exclusive dealing and monopolization.
  • Represented leading grocery retailer in class actions alleging false advertising and violations of consumer protection laws.
