Lance Levine

Senior Counsel

Lance Levine is a senior counsel in O’Melveny’s Real Estate practice with extensive experience in all aspects of real estate law.

Lance primarily represents financial institutions with real estate financings, including mortgage and mezzanine lending; domestic and cross-border investment and finance, leveraged lending and bank finance for REITs and other real estate companies; and workouts and restructurings. Lance’s expertise extends to balance sheet, syndicated, CMBS and construction loans. He also has significant experience handling acquisitions and dispositions of various types of commercial real estate property.

  • Advised Citibank, N.A. and a leading financial institution in connection with several global senior unsecured credit facilities for REITs invested in data center facilities worldwide.
  • Advised several institutional lenders in connection with the financing of major ground-up construction projects, including the Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, 3 Times Square in New York City and a resort hotel in San Antonio, Texas with a PGA certified golf course.
  • Advised several institutional lenders in connection with the issuance of senior mortgage and mezzanine loans secured by hotels, office buildings, major retail centers and multi-family properties both for balance sheet and the CMBS market.
  • Advised several institutional lenders in connection with financings for the renovation of landmark buildings that qualified for the receipt of historic tax credits.
  • Advised a prominent New York City real estate developer in connection with its foreclosure of a mezzanine loan secured by the ownership interests in a New York City hotel.
  • Advised a major real estate fund in connection with a deed-in-lieu transactions for an office property and in connection with the sale of a troubled loan secured by a hotel.
  • Represented a sophisticated real estate fund in connection with the sale of its interest in a forty-property portfolio for $500 million.
  • Represented a Japanese insurance company in connection with its sale of a New York City trophy office building.
