Lauren Martin is a litigator whose practice focuses on complex and appellate litigation.
Her experience includes matters involving state attorney general investigations, insurance coverage, alleged violations of the False Claims Act, and criminal defense, and spans several industries including social media and technology platforms, higher education, nonprofits, and aviation.
Lauren maintains an active pro bono practice in which she represents individual clients in criminal defense and social security matters.
Prior to joining O’Melveny, Lauren served as law clerk to the Honorable Jill A. Pryor of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Honorable Gonzalo P. Curiel of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. Lauren studied political theory and American politics at Dartmouth College and earned her law degree from Stanford Law School. While at Stanford, Lauren was a student attorney in the Supreme Court Litigation Clinic, where she and her teammates successfully litigated on behalf of two criminal defendants before the U.S. Supreme Court in Hemphill v. New York and Lange v. California. She was also a board member of the Black Law Students Association and served as an Teaching Assistant for Professor George Fisher’s Evidence class.
Before law school Lauren was a paralegal in the Public Integrity Section at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, where she supported federal prosecutors in numerous corruption and civil rights investigations, and four jury trials.
