  • Beijing-based Perfect World Pictures in a $500 million, five-year, 50-film slate co-finance agreement with Universal Pictures, and its subsequent $250 million credit facility with East West Bank and JPMorgan. The deal was the first-ever direct investment by a Chinese company in the film slate of one of the six “major” Hollywood studios, and remains the largest Chinese investment in a Hollywood film slate ever closed.
  • Sony Pictures Entertainment in a $200 million film slate co-finance agreement with LSC Film Corporation, which provided co-financing for the studio’s slate of feature films for three years.
  • Goldman Sachs in the structuring of its private equity division’s investment in, and joint ownership of, the CSI television franchise, and the transfer of international distribution rights and operations for this industry-leading TV franchise.
  • KC Global Media Entertainment in its acquisition of four Asian television networks from Sony Pictures Entertainment. The acquired networks include AXN, Animax, GEM and One, which have combined coverage in more than 20 Asian countries.
  • Owners of CoComelon, the #1 most-watched YouTube channel in the world (with an average of 3.5 billion views per month), in its nine-figure sale to U.K.-based Moonbug Entertainment. This M&A transaction included the sale of ownership rights to the CoComelon show and characters.
  • ITV Studios America in the completion of agreements for the creation of three joint-venture television production companies, for the financing, production and distribution of a variety of broadcast, cable and streaming content.
