O’Melveny Worldwide

Liza Sneitzer is a seasoned intellectual property litigator in O'Melveny's Washington, DC office. With more than a decade of experience defending against and enforcing electrical, mechanical, and software patents, Liza provides unwavering, effective advocacy for clients in federal court and before the International Trade Commission in Section 337 investigations. Her background as a physicist and her prior tenure as a patent engineer give her a distinctive technical fluency that enables her to master complex technologies quickly and translate them persuasively for judges, juries, and administrative law judges.

Liza focuses on high-stakes patent litigation involving complex technology. She has extensive experience across the full lifecycle of patent disputes, from pre-suit investigation and claim construction through trial and appeal, in both federal district court and ITC proceedings. Her work spans a broad range of technologies, including electrical systems, mechanical devices, and software platforms. Prior to joining O'Melveny, Liza honed her IP litigation skills at two well-known firms in Washington, DC, and served as a patent engineer at a firm specializing in patent prosecution—experience that gives her a rare combination of technical depth and litigation acumen.

Liza is admitted to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and the US District Courts for the District of Columbia and the District of Maryland—reflecting a practice built for patent disputes at every level. Her physics background and patent engineering experience uniquely position her to handle matters involving sophisticated technical subject matter.
