L. Nicole Allan is a litigation counsel in O’Melveny’s San Francisco office. She represents clients at trial and on appeal, including at the Supreme Court, focusing on cases that raise novel or complex legal issues. She regularly represents colleges and universities across a range of issues and has extensive experience with administrative law as well as the False Claims Act, insurance law, and civil and criminal procedure. Nicole maintains an active pro bono docket focused on appellate criminal defense, reproductive freedom, and rule of law.
Prior to joining O’Melveny, Nicole worked as an associate at a major litigation boutique firm, and as an editor and writer at The Atlantic and The California Sunday Magazine. She served as a law clerk for the Honorable Jon S. Tigar of the US District Court for the Northern District of California. At Stanford Law School, Nicole worked in the Supreme Court Litigation Clinic and earned Best Team, Best Brief, and Best Oralist in the Kirkwood Moot Court Competition.
