O’Melveny Worldwide

Rachel Chung is a litigator focused on complex and appellate litigation. Rachel has authored winning appellate and trial briefs in state and federal court, including the U.S. Supreme Court, on a range of subjects including product liability, mass torts, criminal procedure, and constitutional law. Rachel was an integral member of the O’Melveny team that secured a U.S. Supreme Court victory in City of Austin v. Reagan National Advertising, defending the City of Austin, Texas against a First Amendment challenge to its billboard zoning law. A committed pro bono advocate, Rachel also represents individual clients in civil rights and criminal defense matters.

Prior to joining O’Melveny, Rachel served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable John M. Walker, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Honorable Rowan D. Wilson of the New York Court of Appeals. She graduated summa cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis and earned her law degree from Yale Law School, where she was the president of Yale Law Women and won the Thurman Arnold Prize for Best Oralist in the Morris Tyler Moot Court of Appeals competition.
