DOJ’s Civil Cyber-Fraud Initiative: What It Is and What It Means For You

October 6, 2022

Does your company do business with the government or receive government funding? If so, your cybersecurity deficiencies may put you at risk of False Claims Act suits by private-party relators and the Department of Justice. With its Civil Cyber-Fraud Initiative, first announced in October 2021, the U.S. Government is prioritizing cyber-related False Claims Act cases and seeking to enforce compliance with government cybersecurity standards by encouraging whistleblowers to bring cases.

To learn more about your company’s potential risk and how to mitigate it, join O’Melveny's Sid Mody, Amanda Santella, and John Dermody for a discussion of the Initiative on its first birthday. Our panel will touch on significant enforcement actions, upcoming developments, and tips for mitigating your company’s risk of cyber FCA claims.
