O’Melveny Partners Apalla Chopra and Daniel Petrocelli Named to Los Angeles Business Journal’s “LA500”

LOS ANGELES—July 7, 2022—The Los Angeles Business Journal has named O’Melveny partners Apalla Chopra and Dan Petrocelli to its exclusive “LA500” list, celebrating the “most influential leaders and impactful executives in Los Angeles.” Both are repeat recipients of this honor.
The LABJ recognized Chopra as an “authority in the national dialogue over sexual harassment.” The publication noted her work handling independent investigations on behalf of companies and boards into allegations of misconduct and Title IX investigations, as well as class-action discrimination and wage cases on behalf of employers. Chopra serves as co-chair of O’Melveny’s Litigation Department, co-chair of the firm's Labor and Employment Practice, and also leads the firm's Colleges and Universities Industry Group.
The LABJ described Petrocelli as “one of the town’s top entertainment lawyers… perhaps best known for his US$33.5 million win in a civil case against O.J. Simpson.” The publication highlighted Petrocelli’s recent work on behalf of media companies ViacomCBS, Activision Blizzard, and Fox in multiple executive poaching lawsuits against Netflix. Petrocelli’s extensive practice includes representing clients in entertainment, sports, securities, employment law, and criminal defense matters. He serves as chair of O’Melveny’s Trial Practice and is a vice chair of the firm.
