O’Melveny was featured in The American Lawyer’s March 13 edition of its Litigator of the Week “Runners-Up and Shout-Outs” column. The publication highlighted the O’Melveny team that represented a diverse group landowners and farmers on appeal defending a court-approved plan to allocate ground water from the 42,200-acre Las Posas Basin in Ventura County in Southern California. In a published decision issued last week, California’s Second District Court of Appeal, Division Six upheld the plan of allocation approved by a trial court in Santa Barbara County, turning back a challenge from objecting landowners and water companies. The O’Melveny team includes partners Heather Welles, Russ McGlothlin and Matt Kline, counsel Zach Smith and Kathryn Turner, and associate Adam Phillips.
