Lawyers should be prepared for more confrontation with state AGs in 2027, as AGs on both sides of the partisan fence have been ramping up antitrust enforcement to such an extent that state litigation may rival federal enforcement within a few years. O’Melveny partner Lauren M. Weinstein said: “As regulators, they don’t necessarily have to make their decisions based on economics — they can bring cases they feel are important,” Weinstein said. “When you’ve got a hammer, you’re going to go find the nails.”
