Secured emergency injunctive relief against T-Mobile with a temporary restraining order (TRO) and PI that stopped unauthorized data scraping by T-Mobile of AT&T’s protected websites, where T-Mobile was using an AI-based software tool to scrape data and develop offers for AT&T customers.
Advise a major broadcaster on the full spectrum of AI matters as it develops and deploys AI across its business, including content production and marketing. Our work spans the client's entire AI strategy—use-case identification, rights in training data and generated content, talent and likeness considerations, regulatory analysis, governance structuring, risk mitigation, and testing frameworks—on questions with little precedent in the media and entertainment industry.
Advised Broadcom on the sale of its VeloCloud® SD-WAN business to Arista Networks, a leading provider of cloud and artificial intelligence networking solutions.
Secured a major victory for BH Management Services, B.HOM Student Living, and Timberline Real Estate Ventures (TREV)—and for a joint defense group comprised of 60 defendants—in cutting-edge class action litigation involving algorithmic pricing and artificial intelligence.
Serve as a longtime legal advisor to Fathom, the nonprofit that spearheaded the independent verification concept at the heart of SB 813, California’s first-of-its-kind AI safety legislation. O’Melveny advised Fathom on legal issues regarding the regulatory framework and draft legislation.
Advised Heartflow, Inc. (Nasdaq: HTFL), a leader in AI technology for coronary artery disease, on its upsized initial public offering. Following the underwriters’ exercise in full of their option to purchase additional shares of common stock, the gross proceeds from the offering were approximately US$364 million.
Advised Hippocratic AI, a developer of safety-focused generative AI healthcare agents, in its US$126 million Series C financing.
Advise a global logistics and shipping network deploying AI to optimize routing, operations, and enterprise workflows. We built the framework it uses to manage the legal, operational, and data privacy risks of automated systems, designed and implemented an enterprise-wide AI governance program, and review new use cases so the business can implement AI tools quickly and effectively.
Advise a leading managed care organization using AI and algorithmic tools for population health management for millions of health plan members, member experience, financial and actuarial modeling, and operational efficiency. Advised Moveworks, an AI technology company, in its formation, multiple growth financings and its US$2.85 billion acquisition by ServiceNow, the AI platform for business transformation.
Secured an eve-of-trial success for Samsung in patent litigation involving six patents and 30 claims pertaining to machine learning technology used for face detection and dozens of Samsung products.

Advised Spectro Cloud, a leading provider of AI infrastructure management software, on its US$100 million Series D financing.
Advise a telehealth and pharmaceutical company on its AI strategy as it integrates AI throughout its business. We developed the governance plan and the AI testing and incident response playbook it now runs.
