The US Supreme Court granted San Francisco’s request to review the US Environmental Protection Agency’s incorporation of pollution standards in a Clean Water Act permit. “If you are designing a complex engineering system that's going to do something physically challenging, like handling millions and millions of gallons of water, the more specific the guidance is about how you have to do that, the easier it’s going to be to make sure that you achieve that guidance,” said Heather Welles, counsel at O’Melveny & Myers LLP.
