Law360: O’Melveny Continues Texas Growth With Orrick Energy Atty

O’Melveny announced today that highly regarded energy transactions lawyer David Aaronson has joined the firm’s Houston office as a partner in its Energy Industry Group, expanding O’Melveny’s robust global roster of top-tier energy-focused practitioners. “Widening our energy transactions platform with experienced oil and gas lawyers like David is a core component of our strategic approach — in Houston and across the state,” said C. Brophy Christensen, a partner and corporate department co-chair at O’Melveny. Bradley J. Butwin, O’Melveny’s chair, said in a statement that Aaronson’s unique experience “will be an immediate asset to our clients.” Aaronson said “there’s only a handful of firms in the country that really have the expertise and experience to do it [oil and gas securitization matters], and O’Melveny is one of them, so we’re really looking to push the pedal down on that one and go after growing a market share of that work here at the firm — so it’s certainly something that we’re excited about.”
