Arkansas Times: Republican Plot to Crack, Pack and Hack the Vote in Arkansas’s 2nd District Challenged in Court Again

The Christian Ministerial Alliance and a group of Black residents of Arkansas’s Pulaski County have filed a 59-page complaint against Secretary of State John Thurston and members of the state Board of Election Commissioners. The plaintiffs say Arkansas’s 2nd Congressional District was redrawn with racial gerrymandering in mind. The Legal Defense fund, which is helping on the case, believes the new lines were “redrawn in reaction to the growing political power of Black voters.” Daniel Bookin, a partner at O’Melveny, is also working on their behalf.
