Business Insider included O’Melveny partner Jeeho Lee in its list of the “nine go-to lawyers” advising companies in the electric vehicle industry. According to the publication, dozens of electric-vehicle and charging-network companies “have merged with blank-check companies in order to go public” and “have turned to an elite group of Big Law lawyers to ward off regulatory scrutiny while they try to raise capital.” Lee is a corporate transactions partner who has advised on major SPAC deals, including a US$3.3 billion merger for Faraday Future Property Solutions Acquisition Corp. and a transaction involving Lidar technology company Cepton. “Because it’s a new space, we have to work with colleagues across all different practice areas — you need a team of finance lawyers, you need data-privacy lawyers, we need our IP lawyers,” Lee said. “And then we need our regulatory lawyers, who are in the know of how the industry is evolving.”
