August 25, 2022

Waze Mobile, Google and Samsung were granted a venue transfer in case against patent infringement claims against Malcom K. Breyer, Jr., CEO of AIG Software Development LLC. Breyer claims that Waze infringed five patents relating to the company’s location based messaging feature. Darin Walter Snyder of O’Melveny & Myers LLP, who represents the defendants, said that “any and all products or actions accused of infringement have substantial uses that do not infringe and do not induce or contribute to the alleged infringement of the claims of the Patents-in-Suit.” The litigation was moved from the Eastern District of Texas to the Northern District of California.
