Law360: American Airlines Beats Muslim Attendant’s Religious Bias Suit

US District Judge Evelyn Padin ruled that Farkhan Mahmood Shah’s discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims made against American Airlines lacked evidence and were filed in the wrong state, handing the airline a win in the five-year-old case. “In short, the facts of record fail to suggest that New Jersey was ever plaintiff's ‘place of employment’ while working for American, and likewise fail to, in any other way, suggest that Shah’s employment-specific connections to New Jersey are somehow significant enough to otherwise sustain his NJLAD (New Jersey Law Against Discrimination) claims,” Judge Padin said.
