Law360: Mobile Gaming Co. Beats Investor Suit Over Post-SPAC Woes

US Chief District Judge Richard Seeborg dismissed a class action against Skillz Inc. that surfaced after its 2020 merger to go public with a blank-check company. Judge Seeborg also granted dismissal motions from the individual defendants and underwriters involved with the merger. The judge determined that the plaintiffs failed to establish standing or identify false or misleading statements the defendants made. The underwriters are represented by Amy S. Park, Jonathan Rosenberg, and William J. Sushon of O’Melveny & Myers LLP.
