O’Melveny & Myers LLP has filed a lawsuit on behalf of Disney against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis alleging a “relentless campaign to weaponize government power against Disney in retaliation for expressing a political viewpoint.” The dispute stems from comments that Disney made regarding a Floridia bill that was passed last year. In response, DeSantis appointed a new board to govern the special district where Walt Disney World is located. “The governor and his allies have made clear they do not care and will not stop,” the lawsuit stated. The O’Melveny team is led by trial practice chair Dan Petrocelli and appellate chair Jonathan Hacker.
