Orlando Sentinel: Disney Sues DeSantis, Alleging ‘Government Retaliation’ in Reedy Creek Feud

The Walt Disney Company has filed a lawsuit against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and other state officials over claims that they conducted a “relentless campaign to weaponize government power against Disney in retaliation for expressing a political viewpoint.” The lawsuit stems from an ongoing dispute between the company and Governor DeSantis, who appointed a governing board to oversee the district in which Disney World is located. “There is no room for disagreement about what happened here: Disney expressed its opinion on state legislation and was then punished by the state for doing so,” the lawsuit stated, which was filed by prominent Los Angeles attorney Daniel Petrocelli.
