The American Lawyer: A Fresh Batch of Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout Outs

O’Melveny & Myers LLP was given a “shout out” in The American Lawyer’s October 7 edition of its “Litigators of the Week” column. O’Melveny was recognized for successfully defending Exxon Mobil Corporation against claims that it and seven other oil companies conspired to fix gas prices in California. In her 103-page opinion, US District Judge Jinsook Ohta wrote that a reasonable jury could find the companies made “production decisions based on their own profit maximizing calculus and logistical constraints rather than pursuant to a conspiracy to reduce supply.”
