The Recorder: Hogan Lovells, Wilmer Partners the Latest to Join O’Melveny’s Northern California Tech Practice

O’Melveny announced the hiring of two technology partners across their Northern California offices, strengthening its technology M&A abilities in the region. Nathaniel “Nate” Gallon joins the firm’s Silicon Valley office and represents venture firms, startups, and serial acquirers. “O’Melveny has critical mass and sophistication in venture and tech M&A. It has done a great job building in California, and moving toward a national strategy in that regard,” Gallon said. Ashwin Gokhale, who will be based out of San Francisco, said that he was drawn to O’Melveny’s Bay Area presence, recent growth, and connections to global markets such as Asia. “We’re not the type of firm that wants to have a lot of partners cycling in and out. When we bring someone in, we want it to be a long-term relationship,” O’Melveny Silicon Valley office head Paul Sieben said. “We’re well-positioned to continue to grow within our partner ranks. Nate and Ashwin are an example of that, coming in with strong relationships with companies that aren’t going anywhere even if the market continues to head in the wrong direction.”
