Simon & Schuster CEO Jonathan Karp is rallying the troops as its suitor, Penguin Random House, heads to trial Monday against Biden’s Justice Department. The witness list is a who’s who of publishing bosses, power agents, and authors, including Stephen King, with a US$2 billion deal on the line. Penguin Random House is represented by Dan Petrocelli, “the ace litigator who successfully defended AT&T and Time Warner against the Trump administration’s attempt to scuttle their US$85 billion marriage in 2017.”
