Chopra and Petrocelli Named to Los Angeles Business Journal’s “LA500”

LOS ANGELES—June 8, 2021—The Los Angeles Business Journal named O’Melveny partners Apalla Chopra and Dan Petrocelli to its exclusive “LA500” list, celebrating the “most influential leaders” in Los Angeles, from art to finance and media to law. Both are repeat recipients of this honor.

The LABJ hailed Chopra as an “authority in the national dialogue over sexual harassment.” The publication noted her work handling independent investigations on behalf of companies and boards into allegations of misconduct and Title IX investigations, as well as class-action discrimination and wage cases on behalf of employers. In addition to serving as co-chair of O’Melveny’s Litigation Department and co-chair of the firm's Labor and Employment Practice, Chopra also leads the firm's Colleges and Universities Industry Group.
“Considered one of the town’s top entertainment lawyers,” Petrocelli is “perhaps best known for his US$33.5 million win in a civil case against O.J. Simpson,” the LABJ observed. The publication also cited his more recent work on behalf of companies such as ViacomCBS Inc., Activision Blizzard Inc. and Fox Corp. in multiple employee poaching lawsuits against Netflix Inc. Petrocelli is chair of O’Melveny’s trial practice committee and a vice chair of the firm.
