FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, DC—January 10, 2018—O’Melveny’s Antitrust Practice was ranked as highly recommended in California, New York, and Washington, DC in the 18th edition of the GCR 100.

The GCR 100 is a comprehensive listing of the world’s top competition practices handling the most important antitrust work around the world. Compiled by Global Competition Review’s editorial staff, the publication covers more than 300 firms from every continent.

California

GCR praised the firm’s West Coast practice, led by partners Bo Pearl and Ken O’Rourke, pointing to its “impressive local client base.” The publication noted partner Chuck Diamond’s role in leading US Airways to a win in its long-running suit against Sabre, one of the world’s largest global distribution systems. It also highlighted the firm’s work for Health Care Service Corporation, a licensee of Blue Cross Blue Shield, in two antitrust lawsuits and on behalf of NextEra Energy in a lawsuit alleging the company conspired to monopolize the energy market in Hawaii.

New York

“O’Melveny & Myers remains a litigation hotspot led by Andrew Frackman,” the GCR reported, citing the firm’s work for US Airways in its antitrust lawsuit against Sabre. The publication also cited partner Mark Racanelli’s representation of major clients like Bumble Bee in criminal investigations.

Washington, DC

In writing about O’Melveny’s Washington, DC practice, GCR observed the firm “continues to have one of the leading practices in Washington, DC, with a strong set of cases over the past couple of years.” Partner Richard Parker, GCR noted, is “universally acclaimed as a strong lawyer.” The publication also cited partners Ian Simmons, Ted Hassi, and Katrina Robson’s work for clients like Halliburton and Humana, and hailed the firm’s “string of successes,” including a consent decree that helped Alaska Airlines close its acquisition of Virgin America and a rare competitor lawsuit for Honeywell to try to stop Alarm.com’s acquisition of assets from iControl.
