O’Melveny Advises Mercatus in Acquisition by State Street Corp.

SILICON VALLEY—July 22, 2021—An O’Melveny corporate team advised Mercatus Inc., a premier front-and-middle-office solutions and data management provider for private market managers, in its agreement to be acquired by State Street Corp. (NYSE: STT).
Financial terms were not disclosed for the transaction, which is expected to be completed in September subject to customary closing conditions.
Silicon Valley-based Mercatus has operations in the US, UK, and India and is an investment data management platform for private market fund managers and asset owners that need to solve the complexity of their private investment data. Its platform solves investment data challenges in portfolio monitoring, deal management, valuation management, and ESG. Mercatus manages more than $1 trillion across a global client base of private market investors in real estate, infrastructure, private equity, and private debt.
State Street, is one of the world's leading providers of financial services to institutional investors. In connection with the acquisition, State Street announced that it would “launch its State Street AlphaSM for Private Markets solution which will allow institutional investors to fully manage the entire lifecycle of their infrastructure, private equity, real estate, private debt and fund of funds investments through a fully integrated, digital front-to-back, single platform. This includes the ability to provide whole portfolio exposure to managers investing in both public and private markets.”
