O’Melveny Partners Petrocelli, Godesky, and Marroso Honored as 2022 “Top Music Lawyers” by Billboard

CENTURY CITY—March 29, 2022—O’Melveny partner and Trial Practice Chair Daniel Petrocelli, partner Leah Godesky, and partner David Marroso have been named to Billboard’s 2022 list of “Top Music Lawyers.” Billboard describes the prestigious list as recognizing “the savviest legal counselors in the business.”
In the O’Melveny team’s profile, Billboard highlighted Petrocelli and Marroso’s role in an August appellate win for SiriusXM, in what Petrocelli called “a landmark music industry case regarding performance rights for recordings created before 1972.”
Billboard also noted Petrocelli and Godesky’s ongoing representation of Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Kesha in a defamation suit against Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, the record producer she has accused of sexual misconduct. The long awaited trial is set for early 2023.
