O’Melveny Takes Top Honors at 2022 National Law Journal Legal Awards

WASHINGTON, DC—October 21, 2022—O’Melveny received two prestigious honors at The National Law Journal’s 2022 Legal Awards: The firm was recognized as the Washington, D.C. Litigation Department of the Year in the General Litigation category and named to the publication’s Appellate Hot List.

According to The National Law Journal, the “selected law firms and attorneys have not only gone the extra mile for their clients, but have proven successful implementation of innovative approaches to litigation and legal advisory work.”

Steve Brody, co-chair of O’Melveny’s Product Liability and Mass Tort Practice, shared the firm’s approach to litigation and strategy for building successful teams. “The key to our success is collaboration, whether with our O’Melveny colleagues or working with co-counsel from other firms, everyone checks their egos at the door, rolls up their sleeves, and dives into our work addressing clients’ toughest matters,” Brody said.

Over the past year, O’Melveny secured judgement for Johnson & Johnson in a trial where three of California’s largest counties and the City of Oakland collectively sought more than US$50 billion and also obtained appellate reversal of a US$465 million judgment entered for the state of Oklahoma. Additionally, the firm achieved three wins at the U.S. Supreme Court.
