O’Melveny Welcomes Acclaimed Intellectual Property Litigator Gregory Morris to its New York Office

NEW YORK—August 29, 2022—O’Melveny announced today that acclaimed life sciences patent litigator Gregory A. Morris has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in its Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group.
Morris, who holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry, has extensive experience handling complex pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical technology patent litigation. A trusted advocate and advisor to some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, he has represented clients in Hatch-Waxman and biosimilars cases, as well as in inter partes review proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Morris further strengthens O’Melveny’s roster of life sciences patent litigators. He comes to O’Melveny from Honigman’s Chicago office, where he launched, led, and grew that firm’s Life Science IP Litigation Practice. Chambers USA has called Morris “one of the very best IP strategists,” Managing IP has recognized him as a “Patent Star,” and Crain’s Chicago Business named him to its 2019 list of “Notable Gen X Leaders in Law.”

Morris earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Northwestern University. He earned his B.A. from the University of Michigan.
