Snyder and Yagura Named Daily Journal 2019 “Top Intellectual Property Lawyers”

LOS ANGELES AND SAN FRANCISCO—May 6, 2019—The Daily Journal named O’Melveny partners Darin Snyder and Ryan Yagura to its list of the “Top Intellectual Property Lawyers” for 2019.

The Daily Journal cited Snyder’s “extensive work on intellectual property litigation for Google” as well as such clients as Niantic Inc. and Artifex Software Inc. The publication noted in particular that Google “retained his team to parachute in as trial counsel in a patent case over malware protection technology in the plaintiff-friendly Eastern District of Texas. Trial was set to launch in just five months.” Snyder is also the firm’s regional head of litigation for Northern California, former chair of the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group, and a member of both the Policy and Executive committees.

The publication recognized Yagura, chair of O’Melveny’s Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group, for successfully heading the firm’s defense of client Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.’s against a raft of patent cases. “In December, the parties reached a confidential settlement that Yagura described as favorable to his client,” the Daily Journal noted.
