Variety Names O’Melveny Partners to its 2018 Dealmakers Impact Report

CENTURY CITY, CA—December 6, 2018—O’Melveny Century City partners Matthew Erramouspe, Bruce Tobey, Amy Siegel, Silvia Vannini, and Sean Monroe have been selected for inclusion in Variety’s 2018 Dealmakers Impact Report. The annual special report highlights the accomplishments of the entertainment industry’s top corporate lawyers.

Variety recognized the O’Melveny team for their combined entertainment successes in 2018, including:

  • advising Alibaba in connection with its investment in the highly-anticipated mobile entertainment startup Quibi
  • representing Paramount Pictures in its project development deal with toy giant Hasbro
  • advising Starz in establishing and growing its presence in the Middle East
  • representing Pearl Studio (formerly known as Oriental DreamWorks) in its deal with Netflix for the animated feature film Over the Moon
  • guiding investment strategic advisory company 30WEST in its acquisition of a majority ownership stake in independent film distributor NEON.

Variety has now honored a total of eight O’Melveny partners as “Dealmakers” in 2018, including three O’Melveny New York partners named to Variety’s “Dealmakers Elite New York” list earlier this year.

Matthew Erramouspe is co-chair of O’Melveny’s Entertainment, Sports and Media transactional practice. His practice focuses on structuring strategic investment, financing, and co-financing arrangements, negotiating strategic production and distribution arrangements, and advising on strategic acquisitions and sales of entertainment and media companies and assets, both in the United States and abroad. 

Bruce Tobey is co-chair of O’Melveny’s Entertainment, Sports and Media transactional practice. Tobey’s practice covers all aspects of production, distribution, financing and licensing of feature film and television productions as well as digital media. He also provides strategic and operational advice to investors and companies in both traditional and new media. Tobey is the former Chief Operating Officer of CBS Films.

Amy Siegel, managing partner of O’Melveny’s Century City office, represents motion picture studios, television networks, distribution and production companies, sports organizations and other media clients. Siegel focuses her practice primarily on complex commercial licensing arrangements, with expertise in the use of intellectual property rights. She also advises clients on the creation of strategic alliances.

Sean Monroe specializes in complex mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, new company formations, distribution and licensing arrangements and corporate finance transactions in the entertainment, sports and media and other industries.  Monroe also advises clients regarding venture capital and early-stage formation and investment transactions, and executive employment, equity and compensation arrangements.

Silvia Vannini advises public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions, securities, and general corporate matters, including corporate governance, both in and out of the entertainment industry. She regularly represents private equity funds, domestic and foreign companies, motion picture studios, television networks as well as entrepreneurial clients on a wide range of corporate transactions.
