Jack Jacobsen represents clients in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and leveraged transactions, recapitalizations involving mezzanine debt and preferred equity, public securities offerings, bank financings, and oil and gas transactions. He counsels institutional investors, private equity groups, and independent sponsors on various financing transactions, including buyouts and investments. Jack also advises public companies on SEC reporting and compliance. He has represented clients in purchases and sales of businesses via Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.

Prior to joining O’Melveny, Jack was a partner at an international, full-service law firm, where he co-chaired its Corporate and Transactional Department.
- Natural gas producer Comstock Resources, Inc. in:
- its acquisition of Covey Park Energy LLC in a cash and stock merger valued at approximately US$2.2 billion;
- its US$154 million asset disposition with Northern Oil & Gas, Inc.;
- its acquisition of oil and gas properties valued at US$620 million from Arkoma Drilling, L.P.;
- a US$965 million senior notes offering;
- a US$1.25 billion senior notes offering; and
- an underwritten public stock offering with net proceeds of approximately US$196.7 million.
- Ag-Pro, LLC in the sale of its 21 Texas-based John Deere dealership locations to Tellus Equipment Solutions, LLC.
- Private equity firm Coltala Holdings, LLC in the acquisition of Choice Homecare, LLC.
