The It’s Complicated Podcast: How the Biden Administration Will Impact Corporate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

January 4, 2021

We recently teamed with Ivy Planning Group to launch It’s Complicated, a new podcast series that explores the diversity, equity, and inclusion challenges organizations are facing.

In Episode 2, Ivy Planning Group founder Gary Smith leads an engaging discussion with senior legal and talent leaders about how the outcome of the presidential election might impact DE&I priorities in organizations, and the responsibility of corporate leaders to set the tone for making change and progress. Guests include Jocelyn Cooley, President for Cooley Consulting Corp. and previously SVP Corporate Human Resources and Global Talent Acquisition for ViacomCBS; Brian Ellis, Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Danaher; Chaka Patterson, Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Adtalem Global Education; and O’Melveny partner Eric Richards. They offer insights, informed by their real-world experiences, on the importance of leadership accountability in achieving DE&I goals, and the ongoing challenges for organizations that are working to break the cycle.

Prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace is a moral obligation and a strategic business decision. Now more than ever, DE&I and Talent Leaders, CEOs and Chairs, General Counsel, and Board Members are under the spotlight for how they are addressing DE&I in their organizations. The It’s Complicated podcast welcomes guests to share their perspectives on these complex issues, from competing stakeholders and structural bias to government pressures.
