Three O’Melveny Partners Named 2023 MVPs by Law360
November 3, 2023
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEW YORK—November 3, 2023—O’Melveny partners Denise Raytis, Amy Siegel, and Mark Robertson have been named to Law360’s annual list of MVPs, which recognizes the lawyers who have “distinguished themselves from their peers by securing hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals.”
Raytis, who was named a Project Finance MVP, was recognized for her work advising a consortium in multiple disciplines on the development of John F. Kennedy International Airport's new passenger terminal and advising the Puerto Rico Public-Private Partnership Authority on the financing, operation, maintenance, and improvement of several toll roads.
"I've always enjoyed that there is a physical presence, a reality, to project finance projects," Raytis said. "You can see them, you can tour them, you can later drive by and enjoy what you've been a part of building and creating."
Siegel was named a Sports & Betting MVP and was lauded by Law360 for advising UCLA and Stanford University on their decisions to leave the Pac-12 conference and join the Big Ten and ACC conferences, respectively. She also advised Toyota North America in a multi-year sponsorship agreement designating Toyota as the Official Automotive Partner of the National Football League.
"The breadth of the practice this year was really exciting," Siegel said. "I really got to see a lot of different concepts in the sports landscape. One of the really fulfilling parts of the year was being involved in the college conference realignment."
Named a Transportation MVP by Law360, Robertson was recognized for leading an O’Melveny team that got a biometric privacy class action against American Airlines dismissed in Kislov v. American Airlines Inc., and securing the dismissal of a nationwide discrimination class action brought by 600 flight attendants against American Airlines in Kincheloe et al. v. American Airlines Inc. et al.
"I think it's important, and I'm proud of it, because we're going to see more and more of these biometric privacy laws around the county, and an airline's ability to avoid those types of claims based on Airline Deregulation Act preemption is going to become more important," Robertson said.
