O’Melveny Advises Stanford on Move to Atlantic Coast Conference

LOS ANGELES—September 1, 2023—A cross-disciplinary O’Melveny team provided critical and strategic legal advice to Stanford University concerning its decision to join the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) at the start of the 2024-2025 season.
Stanford, which announced its decision today, will join the University of California, Berkeley and Southern Methodist University (SMU) as the ACC’s newest members, increasing its size to 18 schools. ACC school presidents met earlier today and approved the addition of the three universities.
Last year, O’Melveny advised the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) on its decision to join the Big Ten Conference.
