Law360: NFL Asks To Keep Antitrust Expert In Sunday Ticket Suit

The National Football League (NFL) said that a proposed class’ argument seeking to remove the NFL’s expert witness in an antitrust case is “meritless.” The proposed class, which includes bars, restaurants, and fans, is accusing the NFL and DirecTV of monopolizing Sunday football broadcasts. “Unable to satisfy the relevant requirements, plaintiffs seek to modify and expand the expert-disqualification doctrine to apply whenever an expert has worked with a given attorney, and to do so based on only the vaguest criteria for relatedness between cases,” the NFL said.
